A bit about Michael A

I have more than 8 years of experience teaching in secondary school, BTech Mathematics (Statistics), and PGDE. I am a registered teacher with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), which enables me to teach mathematics and steer students' interests in the subject. My career objectives are as follows: 1. Maximizing individual student performance 2. Inspiring interest of students in the technological application of mathematics and 3. Instilling a sense of self-worth among all students Mathematics and Statistics were my majors. However, I picked up a keen interest in Biology and Physics which have been an added privilege to my online tutoring. I have made a tremendous impact by tutoring both struggling and exceptional students in these three subject areas. Over time from my online classroom experience, I tend to prepare exciting notes of the lesson. This will enable students to partake in the teaching-learning process. The evaluation process gives me the leverage to ascertain positive changes in the students during and after the duration of lessons. My online tutoring experience began during the pandemic in March 2020, but I have more than 8 years experience as a secondary school teacher. In the part of the world where I was born and currently live, Maths is perceived to be a very difficult subject. As a teacher of Mathematics, the joy that reflects on the face of students when I make them understand a mathematical concept is the most precious experience that teaching gives me. Basically, I begin my lessons with questioning. This style helps me gauge the reasoning of the group I am about to teach as far as the concept I am about to introduce. After this, I employ the use of relevant media to serve as visual aids for the lesson. Then, I try to probe the students' understanding of the media. Thereafter, I give mathematical tricks that will make the concept simpler before proceeding to worked examples and evaluations. My teaching objectives are to maximise individual student performance, inspire interest of students in the technological application of Mathematics, and instil a sense of self-worth among all my students. During my lessons, I try to inject some touches of humour, especially when the concept seems difficult. This humour tends to make the students feel less stressed. Then I continue the lesson with having them reflect on the humorous relief longer than necessary. Also, I like an instantaneous response from my students during lessons. This is to ensue their participation in the lesson. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in a prestigious Nigerian University of Technology from the Department of Pure and Applied Mathematics. I also did my teacher's training in Nigeria where I obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education. I am also licensed by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) I have experience with College Board SAT, GCSE, and IGCSE among others. I also teach KS2 and KS3 mathematics Data Analysis IT and Football
