A bit about Elizabeth J

Seeing people achieve their goals, grappling with language and cultural issues, sharing experiences of other countries, enlarging people's outlook on the world. Languages have been my passion from an early age. Living abroad has enabled me to see the world in colour rather than black and white. I have always enjoyed talking about different linguistic concepts and still enjoy learning other languages for my own personal use. I have always worked with languages and my enthusiasm hopefully is contagious! I have experience teaching children and adults, whether for exams or pleasure. I have also taught languages for use in the workplace, as well as English as a foreign language. I taylor my classes to the individual, so I take into account what they hope to achieve and their preferred learning styles. My aim is to make every lesson interesting and fun. I have a flexible approach and my style varies depending on who I am teaching. I use a variety of resources and make the lessons fun by including games, music and so on. I love the way everyone is different, so all my students bring something unique to the lesson. I learn from them as much as they learn from me! You remember your favourite teachers from school. They can influence your life. I would like to be remembered in that way by my students, years after they have stopped lessons. The fact I am relaxed, flexible, and make learning enjoyable. Enabling students to achieve the desired grades in exams, or helping individuals gain confidence and believe in themselves. It is very satisfying when they can enjoy their trips abroad more because they can use some phrases I have taught them. I have a degree in German and linguistics with Spanish and I have a certificate in teaching Italian to adults. People asked me for help and I found I enjoyed explaining things to them. My own French teacher at school is one of my heroes. Travel, cookery, swimming I am familiar with AQA and Edexcel. I have taught children right through to adults older than me.
