A bit about Mrs Mateas

Qualified Teacher & Ex Head of Computer Science & IT. I specialise in Computer Science, IT/ICT & English Writing, spelling, punctuation and grammar. Exam boards: AQA, Edexcel, WJEC, BTEC Pearson, ECDL, OCR, Pearson, City & Guilds I have a 2:1 Degree in Forensic Computing Teaching Degree 5+ Years experience in Teaching Head of Department for 2 Years I am passionate about helping the younger generation learn. I aim to inspire them and encourage them within their learning. Learning does not have to be boring! I ensure that I create a very comfortable and fun working atmosphere. I start by engaging with the pupil/pupils, have a fun engaging starter, go into the main section of the lesson content and we end the lesson with another fun and engaging task. I have been tutoring for 5+ years, I often ran revision sessions. 5+ years experience. I love how I can make pupils engage and find a passion for learning the subject. I am very relaxed but very firm. I ensure that pupils do not cross boundaries and follow rules, but I also ensure that it is a very calm, relaxed and fun learning environment to ensure that the best learning is possible. Inspiring pupils. I always ensure that my lessons involve multiple learning modalities so that students learn through their preferred learning style. The greatest success I have had with teaching is building a very good relationship with my students whereby they want to push themselves further due to the confidence I have given them in class.
