A bit about Anna H

I am a friendly, motivating and patient practitioner. I have always enjoyed working with children and am a qualified primary teacher. I have a wide range of experience, working with children ages 4-15. I have experience tutoring children of all ranges and believe strongly in allowing all children to access and progress to their optimum potential, creating a safe, supportive and challenging learning environment. I have always loved English and Maths, taking A level English at school and enjoying writing. However, I have versatile experience in lots of areas, tutoring children Music, Spanish and History as well. I like to first grasp an understanding of a pupil's confidence and ability within a subject, and plan collaboratively the following appropriate steps. I believe strongly in allowing children to access knowledge fully before progression. Furthermore, my style of teaching is often dictated by what method of learning my pupils' find most beneficial, be that visual, written, verbal. I always ensure that my pupils receive an educational experience that suits them, evoking fun but also challenge to push them further. I always ensure that enjoyment and challenge are of top priority throughout my teaching, encouraging children to push themselves, but to enjoy the process as well! I find teaching to be continually rewarding as a profession - I have always enjoyed both helping people and working with children. Watching a pupil grasp a new concept, and gain confidence in doing so, is so fulfilling; seeing this as part of my job is merely a bonus!
