A bit about Leonie M

I specialise in English. My degree is English with creative writing which has only enhanced my ability to write and educate. I have used my creative side to tailor my lessons and make them as fun and interesting as possible. I first started tutoring when I was completing my degree in 2016. During this time I offered tutoring from KS2 right up to GCSE. Now that I am a qualified teacher I have broadened my tutoring services and I am not fit to offer tutoring for both English and Drama. I offer tutoring for English to A-Level and Drama to GCSE. My teaching style is unique. I do not believe in pupils being bored when they are learning. I like to ensure my pupils are engaged and most importantly enjoy the learning process; that’s why I like to ensure that my teaching style is active teaching - ensuring that there are a range of activities for my pupils to complete to enhance their learning. I believe by doing this, pupils have a much higher success rate of understanding what is being asked of hem and retaining the information. I have two years experience teaching English Language to GCSE level with the exam board CCEA. Additionally, I have 1 years recent experience teaching English Literature at As level with CCEA. I am currently teaching the poetry unit (Seamus Heaney and Robert Frost) to which I have sufficient booklets, notes, PowerPoints and excellent annotations for each of the poems for each of the poets.
