A bit about Mohammed P

Students appreciate my way of explaining mathematical concepts in an easily understable manner, as well as my organisational and preparation skills. They also like the rigorous routine of regular homeworks as consolidation for each tutorial session, which is gone over briefly at the beginning of the following tutorial. 'Little and often' over a period of time is what improves learning. My teaching philosophy is based on clear explanations with plenty of examples to hone skills. Using the correct set of resources is essential. Clear, but to the point, notes with plenty of practice questions and fully worked out solutions are key to success. A proactive and interested approach on the part of the student is essential. Education is a two-way street. I have a first class undergraduate degree in Mathematics with Theoretical Physics and a PhD in Einstein's Theory of General Relativity. I have worked as a full-time secondary school mathematics teacher between 2006-2018, teaching all levels (including Advanced Higher Mechanics) in the Scottish education system. I have worked as a lecturer in mathematics in the engineering department of a further education college between 2019-2022. I have extensive experience (2000-2023) of private tuition in mathematics and physics at all levels in secondary, mathematics in upper primary, and first to third year mathematics and engineering at university.
