A bit about Louise J

I have taught for over 20 years so I am highly experienced. I have taught all abilities and have taught key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level. I have taught several different exam boards and have also marked the English Literature poetry paper for the AQA. I have previously been a Head of Department and been in charge of Key Stage Three English, GCSE and Literacy in school. My favourite thing about being a tutor is the ability to create confidence in my students and see their pleasure in making improvements in the subject. I have always enjoyed working with young people and helping them understand a range of texts including texts they often struggle with such as Shakespeare. If I can persuade them how great Macbeth is, for example, then I have succeeded! I have a 2.1 BA Hons Degree in English and History as well as a PGCE in Secondary English. I have always wanted to work in a job that was creative and inspiring. More than anything I wanted a purpose and I didn't feel I would get a strong sense of purpose working in an office whilst educating young people ticked that box! I think I like the sound of any own voice too - which always helps!
