A bit about Imogen P

BA Hons History degree (2:1) from Leeds Beckett University. PGDE from the Teach First programme. I have three years teaching experience with ages 11-16 and have experience in 1:1 tutoring as well as running group interventions and putting together individual plans for students for them to reach their goals. With my training years being during the pandemic I have experience of in classroom teaching, online teaching and blended learning programmes making me flexible in being able to deliver whatever works best for my students. I have experience with exam boards AQA and Edexcel having access to past papers, mark schemes and examiners notes to further benefit my pupils. Having loved history at school and having the best school experience I believed teaching was the vocation I needed to follow. Throughout my career I have worked with young people and have always wanted to ensure they have the best future possible and that starts with education. Being able to influence the next generation not only academically but socially ensuring they are ready for their next steps is one of the main reasons I became a teacher. Teaching a subject, I love and sharing my love for learning with other people has always been my goal and I feel the passion and interest I have for my subject comes across in my teaching style. It is never too late to learn something new, and I believe a good teacher can inspire people to reach for their goals and be whatever and whoever they want to be! My teaching style can vary depending on the students I am working with. I ensure that my approach to teaching is suited to the student and their goals and aspirations. Students love that the passion for my subject and for learning comes through within my teaching style. I use varied and layered goals and outcomes to ensure the lessons are engaging and suitable to the level of the students participating. Differentiation and structure to ensure the students are supported along their learning journey. I love to mix the present with the past and ensure that my students can relate to the content they are learning and get excited about their lesson and learning outcomes. I have a passionate, energetic and fun approach to learning ensuring that no two lessons are the same to ensure my students are engaged and fulfilled with their learning experience.
