A bit about Sidhra M

I am a Secondary school English & R.E teacher who has also taught EAL and students with complex SEND needs. My learning approach is centered around the individual needs of students and their learning style. I plan my lessons to accommodate the UK education curriculum and place an emphasis on examinations as ultimately the aim is to get students familiar with assessments! AQA & Edexcel Hiking, Baking & reading ! The teachers i had during my school life inspired me to become a Teacher, they were patient, understanding and extremely knowledgeable, I aim to be just like them, they made a difference in my academic life and i am now aiming to do the same. Gcse Qualifications: English Language-B English Literature-A Mathematics-C Core Science-B Additional Science-B Urdu-C Geography-C Religious studies-A* ICT-C A Level Qualifications: English Language-B Sociology-A Government & Politics-B Bachelors - First class English & Theology PGCE Secondary Secondary English, History & Religious Education Teaching to an exam. My lessons are planned around the school curriculum, which is used as a basis for assessments. There will be examinations regularly and the content will be taught according to the best individual learning style. This is usually established in the beginning consultation I have been tutoring/teaching for three years both on a 1-1 basis and in small group settings. I love that my subjects helped to broaden student understandings, develop key analytical skills, improve overall English orally and written and help to widen vocabularies. I would describe it as highly adaptable. I do not really prefer one teaching method, or one way of interacting with the students in the classroom environment. Because in my opinion, each class is different, so is each lesson, and a good teacher should always adjust their teaching to their audience, the level of discipline in the class, the difficulty of the lesson, and so on. I simply prefer individual approach to teaching, and I alternate between being an authority, demonstrator, facilitator, and delegator. So far it has been working great, so I have no reason to doubt the effectiveness of my teaching style. The individuality, the constant assurance i require from them and assessments as the forefront of the tutoring as this helps to establish clear goals and boosts morale. Being able to se my students succeed in school and watching them grasp key concepts/ideas which are challenging. Listening to student concerns and individualising a plan of teaching. My teaching philosophy is that all students are unique and learn differently, a good teacher is able to recognise and adapt accordingly. Seeing students achieve their desired results, gain confidence in school and graso key concepts!
