A bit about Simon

As a recent BSc Mathematics graduate from Sussex University and a passionate Maths nerd, I just can't seem to get enough of Mathematics! Achieving a high first-class degree, I feel very passionate about unlocking my students' mathematical potential. I have over 5 years of tutoring experience ranging from GCSE students to 3rd-year university students. I am up to teach any mathematics going from differentiation and integration to functional analysis and dynamical systems! I have mentored a second-year mathematics student who was extremely behind on Complex Analysis, one of the most challenging modules of the Sussex BSc Mathematics course. Through patience and determination, I have helped this student pass this highly abstract module by enhancing her mathematical intuition. PS: If you are interested in complex analysis, do ask me about it - I love it! I believe anyone can do mathematics, all you need is motivation and confidence. If you are a struggling student, I will be here to build your confidence and mathematical intuition to explore your full potential! If you are an enthusiast who wants to pursue a degree with high mathematical content, I am happy to go beyond the A-level syllabus in order to fully prepare you for your next mathematical journey :D! I love seeing the realisation on my tutee's faces when they finally understand a new concept! Their happiness is contagious, and it's also very rewarding for me seeing that my explanation made perfect sense. I specialise in Mathematics, with ability to teach from A-level to university level. Specifically, I can teach all of the standard modules taught in a standard mathematics course, like calculus or linear algebra. I can also teach more specialised and advanced topics like functional analysis, Markov chains, dynamical systems, or even measure theory. I am also very happy to teach any highly mathematical module taught in other degrees like Economics, Physics, Engineering etc. I have a Bachelor of Science from the University of Sussex, achieved with an overall mark of 84%.
