A bit about Mrs Claudy B

I have always loved Maths and have a special talent for explaining Maths concepts and encouraging students to increase their Maths confidence. Primary Year Groups 3 to 6; Secondary Year Groups 7 to 9. I also give individual and remedial coaching for students who are failing to achieve Maths GCSE Foundation Level (those whose target grades are below 4 & 5). I am warm and friendly. My approach is to use different teaching resources such as Maths websites, games and videos to demonstrate topics to learn or revise. I will use the teaching methods taught at your child's school such as division by chunking or lattice multiplication, etc. I am Mrs Claudy B, an Educator and Mother of two; I have devoted my life to learning support and teaching from Early Years through to Adults. My experience as an Educator spans 17 years. Specifically, I have given Classroom Maths Support and Interventions, on a one to one and small groups basis, for 6 years in Primary Schools. I also taught Functional Skills Maths at local colleges to students from age 14 years to adults aged 19 years and over for 3 years. I currently Tutor students in from Year 5 to pre-GCSE Year 10. It is very rewarding for me to work with a Key Stage 2 student and to see their Maths ability improve, just as much as it is to work with an adult to gain Functional Skills Maths qualifications to perform better at work and to gain entry to Higher Education. I cover basic Maths, Algebra and Data. Topics include the following: Multiplication Division Addition Subtraction Fractions Decimals &Percentages Ratio Mixed Operations Patterns Using Formulae. Time Temperature Money Area Perimeter Volume Metric/Imperial Angles Probability Graphs Charts Tables Mean Median Mode. Please contact me with any enquiries.
