A bit about Jae.

I am currently in my Third Year at the University of Leeds where I study French and Linguistics. This year, I am doing a Year Abroad in France. I am currently working as a TEFL teacher in a French primary school! I studied French (A), English Language (A) and English Literature (B) at A Level. I am extremely creative, patient and passionate about learning/education and this shows in the care and detail I put into my lessons and students. I am aspiring to become a Speech and Language Therapist in the future :) I specialise in French and English Language up to GCSE Level. I also specialise in help with UCAS Applications, Personal Statements, Essay Writing etc. I teach AQA and Edexcel and all primary & secondary school year groups. I have 11 GCSEs at grades 7-4 (A-C) including a 7 in English Language and 3 A-Levels in French, English Language and English Literature (AAB). My favourite thing about being a tutor is seeing the growth and progress that my students make and seeing their confidence improve once I make them aware of their achievements because sometimes, they don't realise how far they've actually come. Knowing that they have found faith in themselves, and their ability is the most rewarding thing for me :) I usually start with an icebreaker to get the student comfortable and ready to learn, this could be in the form of a game or a conversation. I do a brief recap of the previous lesson, to ensure they understand and are ready to move on to the next topic. I understand that each child is different and will have differing learning types from others, so I ensure that I tailor the lessons to their needs. I use a range of ways to teach: pictures/images, written information, videos etc. At the end of the lesson, I finish with a game or exercise to gage how well the student has understood and I will inform the student of what we will cover in the next lesson to check if this is something they have covered already or if this is something they are confident in and would benefit from doing a different topic.
