With four children at home, at the age of 36, I became a mature student and embarked on an academic journey which began with re-sitting GCSE maths and English exams followed by completing a humanities access course. After achieving an English Degree, I went on to complete a Masters by Research. Currently, I am a humanities and social sciences PhD student who has also been privately mentoring English students for the past three years. I have a keen interest in helping students reach their potential and believe in their own abilities. Alongside having a PGCE with QTS and being qualified to teach English as a second language, I have achieved the status of Associate Fellowship of HE and the SEDA Learning Award.
