A bit about Anila

I am currently a medical student, who has been tutoring students for a few years. Helping them reach their potential and goals by working together and communicating with students on their strengths and what they need to work on. I have been in the same position as my students when doing my GCSEs and A levels, therefore, I understand what they are going through and their drive to do well. As a university student I am always willing to answer any questions students have and help them to the best of my ability. I believe that to teach effectively understanding what students goals are and why, are important. Therefore, I am able to understand what student's need and therefore I am able to push them to achieve their goals whether they are short or long term. As I have been in the students footsteps before, I am able to understand the pressures that students are under especially during their GCSEs and A levels. I am more than happy to help students during this time period and answer any questions they may have about the future. What inspired me to become a tutor in the first place is that I enjoy helping and communicating with others. When I would tutor in school I was able to see how it would improve their confidence in the subject. Especially, as 1:1 help can have a huge impact as students are able to go at their own pace and ask as many questions as they want until they are 100%. When thinking back to when I was doing my GCSEs and A levels I know how much tutoring would have helped me. The lesson structure is always determined by the student, so depending on their needs the session will follow that structure. Whether that is a focus on content or exam technique. I always encourage students to let me know the topic beforehand and what they would like to focus on, so they can get the most out of their time. It also helps me prepare and tailor my session to the student. If students need me to explain something again or go over a particular topic I am always happy to do so as these sessions are for the students.
