A bit about Elizabeth A

I specialise in English language and literature at KS3 and KS 4 and English literature at KS5 and IB. I also teach biology at KS4 and 5. I started online tutoring in April 2021. I was attracted to this role whilst I was still a classroom teacher because I felt that during Covid lockdown I was able to give more individual and bespoke attention to my classroom students who were unable to be taught in the classroom. I practise yoga regularly and I am training to be a yoga teacher. I have an allotment where I grow vegetables for my consumption and planning a cut garden for next year. I am planning to grow flowers to practise Ikebana flower arranging. After taking classical violin lessons for 2 years, I am now teaching myself how to play Irish fiddle music. I teach year 7-13 secondary school groups and undergraduate level. I have taught OCR, IB, AQA, Edexcel GCSE and iGCSE, Cambridge iGCSE, WJEC English language and literature. For two decades, I worked in clinical research in academia and pharma. When my last post was made redundant, I fulfilled my passion for life-long learning by studying English Literature and obtained a PhD. In my teaching, I aim to encourage that same love of learning in my students whereby I am able to create bespoke and engaging tutoring sessions for specific student needs.
