A bit about Tabitha G

I have worked as a Psychology and Biology tutor for almost 3 years for all exam boards and have lots of experience working with people who have learning disabilities such as dyslexia or dyspraxia. I have had students improve drastically from C/D grades to A*'s and I can get you there too! I am currently a Neuroscience masters student and can help anybody at undergraduate degree level too I specialise in Psychology and Neuroscience but can also tutor A level Biology. I have also tutored individuals with special educational needs such as dyslexia and adhd and am happy to accommodate for this in classes. Usually I like to do a quick recap and questions from last lesson. Then I move on to the new topic. Firstly I use the blurting technique and try and get the individual to recall what they know about that topic and identify where they are unsure. Then I will go through the material and explain it. Then we will finish with practice questions. I first started tutoring in 2020 and have tutored a range of students since on other teaching platforms. This has been in GCSE maths, English, Science and Spanish. As well as A level Psychology and Biology I love being able to talk about fascinating experiments and their applications in the real world. I love explaining to students the impact of certain studies and them being genuinely interested in the methodology. I also love seeing my students develop lines of argument in scientific writing My teaching style is very interactive. I often ask my students how best they learn and tailor my style to their needs. For example I might ask a student who learns by listening best to make an acronym or song about a concept to they can remember it. What is consistent across all students is the emphasis on practice questions!
