A bit about Alexander B

I first started tutoring after my first year of my Masters degree, I wanted to be a cognitive scientist at that time. But then after I fell into teaching I knew that was what I wanted to do. I think one-on-one tutoring is the only way to learn really. I think classroom teaching only benefits 15% of the students in that classroom. Most students are smart and understand everything already, whilst the others are falling behind, which is a tragedy. Tutoring helps any child or adult no matter where they are in life. Personal successes for me is when I see young students grow up to be competent intelligent young adults. But of course seeing students pass exams you prepared them for is great too. I once had a student who was going to take their IELTS and only told me 3 weeks in advance. I told them it would be really difficult to get a good mark with such a short preparation time. But they aced it!
