A bit about Annette G

I have a degree in Biology and a Masters in Oncology. I have been a Biology and Chemistry teacher in a secondary school for 20 years. I have had an array of roles such as Head of KS4 Science, Intervention Leader for Science and I am currently Head of Biology in a large secondary school. In such roles I am accountable and responsible for all students across the school reaching their full potentials. I specialise in Biology and can teach this at KS3, GCSE and A Level. I can also teach Chemistry at KS3 and GCSE. Recap of previous knowledge at the start of the lesson, ensuring knowledge is sound before moving into the next topic area. I teach the new content using a range of resources and pedagogies. I then give the student a task to allow them to apply what they have learnt. We will then go through the task together, discussing what was done well and what could be improved ensuring to explain how. A homework task will be given to be handed in before the next lesson. I mark the homework, ready to give feedback for the following lesson. 15 years ago.
