A bit about Colin M

I am a qualified secondary Computer Science teacher with several years experience of teaching in mainstream secondary schools. I hold a PGDE in Education, BSc Web & Mobile Development as well as a 220 Hour Specialist TEFL Certificate and Level 2 Certificate in SEND I have a PGDE in Education and a BSc in Web & Mobile Development. I also have a 220 hour Specialist TEFL (Teach English as a Foreign Language) Certificate and a Level 2 SEND (Special Education Needs & Disability) Certificate I love working with young people and observing them learning and progressing as an individual. I get great satisfaction in seeing a student grasp a concept that they initially find hard and that 'light bulb' moment happens. My students love the humour and fun that I bring to the lessons and how approachable and understanding I am as a teacher. I have had several gifts from students that were asked to nominate a teacher they thought deserved a gift. I love football, I am a coach for a football team and also love going to watch football. I am also in a band where I play bass guitar. My favourite thing about being a tutor is the relationships you get to build, the different people you get to meet and the positive impact you can have on peoples lives. Hi, my name is Colin, I am 49 years old, and I am from Scotland. I hold a 220 Hour Specialist TEFL Qualification as well as being a qualified teacher in Computing. I have a PGDE in Education as well as a BSc in Web & Mobile Development. I have 5 years’ experience of teaching computing in mainstream secondary schools and my biggest strength was the relationships between myself and the pupils. I am very patient, caring and approachable and have built very strong relationships with my students. I have extensive experience of lesson planning as well as creating units of work and always bring a feeling of fun and humour to my lessons. I am able to teach every age group from beginners up to advanced English and I have taught students from every background and age. My specialism is in computing due to my background. I have 25 years’ experience of working in different industries such as electronics and would bring this life experience to my teaching role. I am a father of 8 children as well as a football coach and in my spare time I enjoy football and playing in my band, where I play bass guitar.
