A bit about Rhian

I have tutored Maths, History and English Literature and Language for +5years. I have worked with children from Primary to Secondary Education and further assisting them through their GCSEs and A-Levels. I have experience with both AQA and WJEC exam papers and am highly familiar with the vast corresponding literature. I am particularly fond of Shakespeare's work (e.g. Sonnets / Macbeth / Twelfth Night), 20th century literature (e.g. The Great Gatsby / The Colour Purple) and classic plays (e.g. An Inspector Calls / Dickens). I am able to teach flexibly and adapt to students’ needs. I personally prefer using various techniques to consolidate knowledge and ensure the information is retained accurately. I am a kinaesthetic learner, but appreciate the benefits of using more strategic methods alongside this. I will ensure to discuss with students at the end of each session what works for them, what they might like to do differently, and what the following sessions will involve. I have experience with both WJEC and AQA and have taught children from age 8 to adults in further education. I have been lucky enough to have long-standing students, whom I have tutored from Primary to Secondary education and eventually assisting them with GCSEs and A-Levels. I have experience working with young people with Additional Learning Needs, and those who have physical/learning disabilities. I have achieved 10 GCSEs A*-A, 3 A-Levels A-B and have recently completed an undergraduate degree in Human and Social Sciences (BSc). I am currently studying ‘Integrative Counselling MSc’. I am a highly proficient and effective tutor with over 5 years experience. I have taught students of all ages (8-28years) and am adept at teaching both online and in-person.
