A bit about Matthew S

I love it when you see that 'ah ha' moment in a pupil. Throughout school and my degree I had that moment coutless times, so I know exactly how good it can feel. Helping someone get there themselves is so satisfying, especially when they suddenly understand something that they used to struggle with. I love knowing that I helped them push through that barrier! Outside of tutoring most of my times is spent helping with my local Scouts. I am currently a leader at our Cub pack, but have led both Beavers and Scouts before as well. I help out with a number of events throughout the year, from small weekend camps to large scale events with hundreds of partipants running through the city! I don't think I could count the number of nights I spent sleeping in fields! My first experience of tutoring was whilst I was doing my A Levels. Another student asked me to help her prepare for her maths exams, so I tutored her for an hour a week in the library after school. During this time I also helped three students prepare for their GCSE maths exams, and got a job tutoring Key Stage 1 and 2 maths and english. I tutored online throughout my degree, and one summer I was a teaching assistant at a coding camp for primary school children.
