A bit about Chelsey D

I specialise in Biology-related subjects such Biology, Human Biology, Biomedical Science, Anatomy & Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Cardiorespiratory physiology and Cellular Cardiology. I'm also very adept with Chemistry, Physics, HTML, CSS and Web development. I've got over 12 years experience in exam marking for GCSE and A-Level with 4 years experience studying at Degree level. I have a Bachelors of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Leeds, where I gained experience as a STEM ambassador by giving University admissions advice, along with teaching for GAMSAT and UKCAT admissions tests. I have a very flexible and dynamic teaching style, I adapt to my students. I understand that sometimes standard teaching practises may be detrimental to some students as they are quite rigid in their materials and context. I use audio-visual and kinaesthetic approaches to teaching, making sure all students, regardless of current predicted grades, not only understand the subject material but are fully able to apply the current subject curriculum in exams, excelling in their subject to achieve the highest grades. I have so far helped students increase their grade average by up to 6 grade boundaries, within a short amount of time, even when they were not able to attend an educational establishment. No student is incapable of achieving their desired grade with the correct teaching style, time and patience. I love cooking, reading at least one book a week and learning something new! I adapt to my students preferred teaching style, I often explain difficult subject material using everyday, real-life examples that students can visualise. I also have many diagrams and materials that I give students to print off and keep as revision resources. This is usually the key in students remembering and understanding very difficult topics. I believe this also makes the lesson engaging and enjoyable. I'm also a big advocate for past papers, these are extremely important in achieving high grades. I will go through the paper with the student after they have completed this for homework and I will make sure that they understand where marks were missed and how to score them for the next exam.
