Hi! I'm Lexy and I believe it is really important to find the right tutor for each child which is why I offer my first session half price. I'm currently a primary school English and Maths tutor. Before this, I was a primary school teacher for three years, teaching children in Years 1 - 4. My current role as a tutor is wide ranging. During the day, I go into primary schools and tutor small groups of children in KS1 and KS2 (including for the National Tutoring Program). I also teach individual, after-school sessions. Some of the children I tutor need some help to catch up academically, particularly after missed learning due to covid, and some of the children are at a 'greater depth' level who I help to stretch and challenge them academically. Although I enjoyed being a teacher, I love tutoring even more, as working with children individually or in small groups means I can connect more with the individuals and tailor sessions to meet their interests and specific learning needs. I am a qualified Forest School teacher and have experience of teaching in outside environments. I am also a volunteer councillor at Childline where I provide support for young people who are struggling with a range of different issues. I love the difference I am able to make in this role and I am passionate about promoting positive physical and mental health for young people. Outside of tutoring, I love nature and the environment and have a lot of active hobbies including netball, cycling, walking, yoga and running. I also enjoy homely activities such as cooking, baking and reading.
