A bit about Abdullah T

I have been tutoring for 5 years in tutoring Maths, Chemistry, Physics & Biology both 1-2-1 and in large groups of people. I have experience tutoring in exam boards such as Edexcel, OCR, and AQA. I have so far been able to tutor over 50 tutees. I found passion in tutoring when I worked voluntarily in secondary school to which I found serious interest in continuing as a tutor in the later years. So far, I have been able to develop a unique approach in supporting tutees based on their background, experience, current level. This helps me to bring out my fullest potential in uplifting students to strive for grades they would not expect to receive. Lesson plans will include checklists alongside utilising online animations and software's that enhances students development and understanding of subjects. In the first lesson, I will try to get a gauge of the students current level and begin setting targets to achieve both in the short term and in their long term academics. This not only helps, but it also gives a clear path to take on reaching that end goal set by the student that they can be proud of once they achieve. I first starting tutoring at secondary school when my teacher asked to help students out within lessons. This after on developed to being a teaching assistant for Mathematics, IT in afterschool sessions which I really enjoyed working with students. I later on continued tutoring at university by volunteering to tutor for one hour a week during my studies to support students in the lower year groups to me. What I love most is the way I can now see how the subjects are used in industry for daily challenges and projects. I got the chance to see this first hand in an engineering internship program were I used maths to calculate the safety value of a satellites honeycomb layer. My role involved using Maths and Physics which gave me a better understanding on the impact the education I have had in secondary school has helped me use this in a real world application. My teaching style contains weekly short informal exercises to assess tutee understanding of lessons which takes 5 minutes to complete. Whilst tutoring, I try using real world examples to simplify concepts that are hard in reality to boost confidence. The concepts will all be related to the learning outcome and by having this initiation It will aid the student to understand the concepts with things that are known in society. My favourite thing is seeing is two things. The first thing is the happiness of students when they begin to understand the lessons a lot quicker. The second is when I get messages and calls from students on achieving our set target grades. My teaching philosophy is "Don't let the others tell you what you can and cannot attain". One thing they all love is the calm approach I have. Being a tutor within some students age range helps to build a strong rapport which helps reduce initial tensions in lessons, alongside helping students to ask questions when thy are stuck. My greatest achievement is seeing students in my secondary school experience achieving their A* - C grades. This was the main thrill and motivation which got me to pursue going further into teaching students and helping them believe they can achieve anything they put their mind to. First class in Foundation Engineering (Equivalent to AAA for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) First Class with Honours in Mechanical Engineering My inspiration roots from having no support during my secondary school education. I was not able to receive the correct support to learn and prepare my GCSE's. One of my primary reasons on being a tutor was to help students from financially low backgrounds and schools receiving the support they deserve. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy travelling, reading, playing games, watching Netflix movies. Swimming, Judo, Football, Engineering projects such as building Formula One race cars. Exam boards: AQA, Edexcel, OCR Year groups: Year 1 to Year 13
