A bit about Sean K

Hello! I am a highly experienced professional English teacher, with over ten years of classroom experience at high-achieving secondary schools in the UK, Spain and the Middle East. I also hold a degree in English Language, graduating with First-Class Honours from The University of Manchester in 2008. I specialise in teaching English Language and Literature at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 and have an excellent track record of helping my students reach and surpass their goals, most notably in the AQA and Edexcel GCSE and A level exams. Many of my former students have gone on to study and Oxbridge and esteemed Russell Group universities. When connecting with a new student, my immediate priority is to work alongside student and parents to ascertain their requirements and goals, before establishing a bespoke learning pathway that is realistic and clearly defined but also fluid and flexible. Whatever your specific requirements may be, you can be assured that I will call on all of the skills and experience I have gained over the years to ensure that our classes are engaging, challenging and tailored to your child's needs in order to give them the best possible chance of reaching their objectives. I am also a qualified proofreader, and so if you require the proofreading of a document then I would be more than happy to help with this. I moved away from classroom teaching and into the world of online tutoring over two years ago and have found the experience to be extremely rewarding; the focus is exclusively on the student and their goals and it has been a pleasure to see my students make huge strides in much shorter timeframes than can be achieved in a school classroom. Certainly one of my most satisfying moments in teaching came this summer, just after the publishing of the 2022 GCSE results. All of my students either reached or exceeded their targets, and the messages of thanks I received reminded me of just how rewarding teaching can be.
