A bit about Jennie K

Hello! I am a Maths teacher with over 20 years experience in secondary schools, both private and state education. I have been working with the Department of Education/Oak Academy and created Mathematical resources for all UK schools for KS3 and GCSE. I was also a School's Inspector. I also have a wealth of experience, a proven record of success, a catalogue of Maths videos online and I am a GCSE & A level examiner marker...but more importantly, I love teaching Maths! GCSE, IGCSE, A LEVEL and IAL : Edexcel AQA Cambridge I plan each lesson according to the needs of the student. Focussing on key areas for development and stretching these to combat exam questions. Building confidence to unpick what an exam question is asking as well and expanding on exam techniques :) Over 20 years ago. I have a Growth Mindset approach which focusses on helping the student build confidence, independence, grit and determination to tackle challenging problems. I LOVE neurodiversity and how students can approach a maths question in so many different ways. That "light bulb" moment is always the best :D I'm a calm, supportive and happy tutor. I think I have a good sense of humour too. Stretching and challenging and addressing any misconceptions to supplement the learning outside of tuition. I won't give up on a student as long as the student wants to progress, learn and succeed. Hmmmm, I think they like how my experience enables me to explain concepts in different ways. I think this is important as every learner is different. Success is about progress for me. I just love seeing the progress of my students. I can't pin point a single success point, but I always love the moment students get) exceed their exam grade they wanted and I get the sweetest message/phone call full of tears of joy and gratitude.
