A bit about Rosalind P

I am an English and Maths primary tutor, specializing in 11 plus exam preparation. I cover all aspects, including verbal and non verbal reasoning, reading comprehension, creating writing, grammar, problem solving and much more. I am also a French tutor, up to GCSE and A Level. Learning is always fun with me. I love seeing my pupils gain in confidence, helping them to achieve their goals. I use a variety of teaching aids, from online to interactive games, cards, dice games, videos and much more. I tailor my teaching to the child's particular learning preferences. I am kind and patient and I bring out the best in my pupils. I have experience of teaching in person in a preparatory school environment over the years, as well as online since 2019. Teaching has always been my passion. I have had the joy of preparing numerous pupils for examinations with great results. I am highly organized. I always carry out an initial assessment with a new pupil, to ascertain areas of strength and areas for development. Each lesson has a clear learning objective, and introduction, main activity and a conclusion. We revisit recent work and homework is given, should this be desired by the parent. My learning style is fun, with an element of challenge. I aim to open the horizons of my pupils. Each lesson has a different focus, gradually building on the pupil's skills. I give positive rewards for children's achievements, such as certificates. Seeing my pupils gain in confidence in their skills in English and Maths and equipping them for the exams but also with skills for life. Being a part of my pupils' learning journey. Aim high. I value high standards and reaching for the stars. Enjoying the subject is also the key to success. It is always fun, there is something new to try: a game/ a song/ a new challenge. They are always eager to participate, as it helps them to engage with their learning. When my pupils succeeded in their examination, gained a place at a prestigious school, or simply achieved a personal learning goal.
