A bit about Stuart D

I have taught GCSE French, German and Italian professionally for over 20 years as well as French and German at A level. I have proven experience in preparing students for GCSE examinations, in particular the spoken and written elements. I am also experienced in providing bespoke revision programs for French, German and Italian GCSE students. As an examiner for a major examination board, specializing in the speaking and writing papers, I am able to provide in-depth exam practice for these skill areas. GCSE French, German and Italian. A Level French and German. I can provide individualized programs of study and revision with a focus on grammatical as well as spoken and written language. I have over 15 years of experience both as a teacher in these languages as well as a Head of Department aiming to produce optimal outcomes for my students. I will initially focus on the needs of the student and then concentrate on both active and passive skills, aiming to provide the best-fit approach with a variety of tasks. Vocabulary will be developed in an accumulative manner with regular review and retrieval of previously covered content. In terms of GCSE support, I will reinforce everything I teach with the use of exam paper questions to ensure that students leave each lesson with a clear idea of what they have achieved and how they can move forwards. I am very responsive to the needs of the individual learner and will aim to individualize lessons according to the student's personal objectives. I began teaching in 1995 at a private tutorial college in Birmingham and went onto gain my PGCE and full teaching qualification at a Catholic school in Coventry. I have taught at schools across Lancashire, including a high school near to Blackpool where I spent 11 years as the Head of Department. I have also taught as a self-employed Language Service Provider, offering private lessons to GCSE students.
