A bit about Kathryn B

I specialise in essay writing and comprehension. For many of my students, providing the tools and honing their existing skills is simply the case. A clear essay plan can help any student stay on track as they sit their exams, and I have supported my students to slow down, be sure they understand what the question is asking them, and only once they have a plan begin their essays. This is the key to better marks. Teaching literature means no lesson is the same because every student will read a text from their unique perspective. I love listening to my students as they explore a new author, analyze the delicate connections in a poem, and relate their own experiences to a writer from a century long past. Literature is about connections, and teaching it is pure joy. I am a patient and thorough teacher; I help students to develop their essay writing and comprehension skills. Continued reading is essential to growing as a literature student, and that practice makes perfect! I adapt my approach to best suit, my students; whether they are visual learner or prefer listing notes, we can decide together on a strategy that will enhance their learning experience. At 18, I studied for my TEFL qualification with TESOL International in Florence. There, I first began teaching classes of adults how to speak English. It was incredibly rewarding, and the experience inspired me to continue teaching when I returned to study for my Undergraduate degree.
