A bit about Francine

I've taught for 8 years both in Australia and England. This includes in person teaching, online and tutoring. I have experience with AQA, OCR, Pearson, iGCSE, iA-Levels and National Curriculum. I pride myself on adapting my lessons to the students in front of me in order to help them reach their full potential. I specialise in Biology at A-level but have extensive experience with all three sciences at KS3 and KS4. I love helping students understand the world around them. Teaching science isn't about telling students the answer but giving them the tools to explore and form their own ideas using the scientific method. My teaching philosophy is that a tutor's job is to facilitate learning. My tutoring style isn't giving out answers but building student's skills, knowledge and confidence so they can understand how science works and how that relates to their world. Science isn't just about passing a test or getting into university, it's about understanding yourself and the world around you. I teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS3 and KS4. I also teach Biology at A-Level. I have experience with a range of exam boards, including Pearson, AQA and OCR. I can also adapt to other exam boards to suit the students needs.
