A bit about Jo

I am a qualified drama and music teacher and have taught in both non-formal and formal school contexts since I left university. I have taught both GCSE and A-Level including Edexcel, AQA, WJEC and Cambridge Technicals examination boards. I have experience teaching a wide variety of play texts including 'Things I Know to Be True', 'Blood Brothers', 'Noughts & Crosses' and 'Two Faces'. I fell in love with education when working for a theatre company as part of a charity working with young offenders. I have taught in a wide variety of schools and I am passionate about the power of the arts to enable students to discover their potential. I have a BA (Hons) in Performing Arts from The University of Winchester and a PGCE in Secondary Drama from the University of Chester. I have taught a wide variety of exam boards including Edexcel, AQA and WJEC for GCSE. I have also taught the Cambridge Technicals Performing Arts Extended Qualification. Most of my experience has been at with the 11-16 age group, although I have also taught A-Levels and whilst working with young offenders this extended to 25 years old.
