A bit about Isabelle S

In English I specialise in the AQA exam board. I have specialised knowledge of all English language and A Christmas Carol, Macbeth and an Inspector Calls texts for Literature. I also specialise in AQA Power and Conflict poetry. In RE, I specialise in the Eduqas/WJEC exam boards. Hi there, I am Isabelle. I’m currently studying for my LLB Law degree at a Russell Group university. Having enjoyed all of my previous academic experience I thrive in spreading a positive attitude to learning and really encouraging the student to feel proud of all that they have and can achieve. I strongly believe that hard work and trying your best is a great sense of character and I like students to have a sense of pride in what they do, and so that they can see that the world is their oyster! I believe no two students are the same, because of this, being tutored by me I will carefully tailor the sessions to your individual needs such as lesson activities may change depending on whether you’re a visual learning or enjoy practice. Our sessions will run through a variety of methods and I want full honesty from the student what they feel like helps them the most, what they feel the most confident doing, from there together I will create a plan surrounding the student and their individuality. It’s important to me that I create a safe and positive learning environment, I am here to help and support and there is no such thing as a silly question! For me, I feel the most successful when I see a student turning from someone who lacks confidence to someone who is ready to try, is engaging with the material and believing in themselves. With confidence comes better grades, this is because a little bit of self belief and determination is really powerful and empowers the student to try their hardest… just to see what happens. It’s so rewarding to see students develop as academics and watch as their confidence grows, which is followed by their grades improving, their vocabulary expanding and having a smile on their face at the end of the session!
