A bit about Lawrence M

I have eight years tutoring experience. English Literature MA graduate. Worked with GCSE/A-Level students & SEN students mainly. However, I also have experience working with primary education. It is vitally important to me that the student finds enjoyment and immense value in each lesson. Travelling mostly. I have worked and travelled abroad several times, most recently I spent 6 months travelling the United States, which was an incredible experience. Although I am terrified of heights my friends coaxed me into sky diving while I was in Alabama...crazy experience. I have an English Literature undergraduate and Masters Degree. I received A's in English Literature and Language at A-Level and GCSE as well. I have worked in school environments and with children of all ages since I began tutoring 6+ years ago. From what I have gathered from feedback and responses, students feel comfortable and gain confidence from my tutoring. Often the reason we struggle with subjects is because the teacher does not make the material digestible. I aim to correct that. Seeing the progression in knowledge, understanding and confidence within a student and seeing them arrive at the point where they no longer require my assistance. A couple of years ago, during the pandemic I freelanced as a tutor for a teenager with autism who was struggling with his GCSE English, after my tutoring we were able to get him from a D to a B level grade within a couple of months. A variety of literature including but not limited too: 1984, Inspector Calls, Of Mice & Men, Frankenstein, The Wife Of Bath, Shakespeares Sonnets, King Lear, Macbeth, Othello.
