A bit about Rachel W

I’m Rachel, a 2022 graduate from Edinburgh University who tutors Mathematics from KS2 to A-level. As someone who has strong grades but has had to work hard for them, I understand the feeling of confusion when it comes to academia, especially Maths. Therefore, I enjoy helping others work through the struggle of not understanding things the first time and take pleasure in seeing my students learn and progress. I have over 3 years of tutoring experience up to A-level. My qualifications consist of a Ma Hons Economics and Politics degree from the University of Edinburgh, A in A-level Maths and an A* in Maths and A Further Maths GCSE. My tutoring experience consists of being a MyTutor School Opportunities tutor for A-level and GCSE maths students, conducting private online tutoring sessions in A-level politics and voluntary maths tutoring with KS3 students. My lessons consist of recapping what we covered in the previous lesson to confirm that the topic was understood and sunk in. Followed by me introducing the new topic with participation from the student, giving them the opportunity to share their knowledge. Followed by practise questions for the student to work through with my help if needed. Ending in a summary of what has been covered in that lesson and what we will look at new week. Mathematics from KS2 to A-level I first started tutoring in 2017 when I was studying for my A-levels.
