A bit about Charlotte T

My students love my attitude towards their learning: we work together to help each other and we don’t beat ourselves up over mistakes as they show us how to get better! We work at a pace that suits us but also provides enough of a challenge. My lessons are always set out with a clear and achievable goal catered to the individual needs of each student. Everything is broken down into small, digestible chunks and before you know it we’ve completed a whole topic! I try my best keep things engaging and upbeat to keep up the cognitive development without making things boring. I specialise in teaching English and phonics to students that are foreign and/or have special educational needs. I also have experience tutoring art: anywhere from the building blocks to more advanced techniques and skills. My teaching philosophy is based on honesty and respect. I aim to provide the students with enough of a challenge in that they feel accomplished but not overwhelmed. It is incredibly important to keep up a child’s self esteem with regards to their learning so I teach the importance of making mistakes on our learning journeys.
