A bit about Deirdre H

Having worked in alternative education provisions for many years I understand that one method doesn't work for all, therefore, I don't show just one method of doing things. If you are struggling to understand how something works one way then we will look at alternatives until we find a method you are comfortable with. I am very approachable and love helping students feel confident in their abilities. My greatest successes are in opening up subjects to students who have struggled with them in the past. I have worked for years with disengaged students who believe they can't do and when given a safe space with support surprise themselves. I have been teaching for 18 years and have loved working with young people in both primary and secondary education. The vast majority of my teaching career has been spent working with young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. I am a qualified SENCo. I am a mum of two girls, aged 6 and 9, and owner of a rather crazy Sproodle called Luna. I love helping others to solve problems and overcome challenges.
