Tell us a bit about yourself.

I am an experienced in-school maths teacher who loves using traditional and modern techniques in helping my students understand the full concept of mathematics and it’s applications to real life. I have worked for tutor companies such as SYLVAN and helped many families over come their children’s fear of mathematics. I have also worked in Bahrain for over 4 years and now I’m back in the uk to continue with my love for teaching.

What do you specialise in?

I specialise in KS1 KS2 and KS3. I have also taught GCSE and ALEVEL students but currently would only be concentrating on KS1 to KS3. I have worked for American tuition company SYLVAN in Bahrain for 4 years, who specialised in tuitions for subjects all over the curriculum. I also have qualifications in teaching abroad in another country. I want to help students understand the basics and fundamentals of mathematics.

How do your lessons usually plan out?

I would work with my students and firstly find out what they would like to get out of the lesson initially. I will then work closely in making sure we are covering their topics which are currently being taught in their classrooms in schools. I would set homework’s where it is needed and I allow emails to be sent to me when needed.

When did you first start tutoring?

I first started tutoring over 12 years ago which was from my home. I moved to Bahrain between the years 2013 and 2017, where I took this profession more seriously and worked for a company called SYLVAN.

What do you love most about teaching your subject?

I absolutely love teaching maths and using traditional and modern techniques in order to help my students understand the full concept of mathematics and relate it to their day to day lives.

What is your teaching style?

I have a very fun and interactive way of teaching but I intend to gain feedbacks from my students and see what ways works best for them. Some students like to have some time to understand the taught techniques and some prefer the 121 full method.

What is your favourite thing about being a tutor?

I think it would be to see my students feel confident and happy in applying mathematical methods.

What is your teaching philosophy?

To use both modern and traditional methods where needed when it comes to understanding the concept of mathematics

What do students love most about your teaching style?

My students find that I am very approachable, fun and interactive and great at giving feedback where needed. I have had parents approach me and tell me how I’ve changed their child’s approach to mathematics.

What is the greatest success you've had with teaching?

My greatest success would be my two A-level students who have re took their A levels after failing their first year and have passed with 2 A’s and got an admission in Queen Mary’s University in London.

Which relevant qualifications do you have?

I’m a qualified international teacher with 4 years experience.

What inspired you to become a teacher?

My nieces and nephews inspired me to become a teacher. I would tutor them and see them succeed. I have been told my many that my teaching methods are extremely helpful.

What are your interests outside of teaching?

I love going to the gym and cooking healthy continental dishes.
