A bit about Sandra D

Hello! I'm Sandra and I'm a Medical Student. I achieved A*A*AA in my A-Levels and want to help you to do the same! I was one of the first years to sit my exams after COVID-19, and found the prospect daunting, but with the right help and guidance, I managed to get the grades I needed for medical school. I'm really passionate about education, particularly the sciences and English and I believe that anyone can succeed if they have the right resources. I tutored for 4 years in an 11+ centre, and have taught my own classes for 2 years. I like to start with some form of active recall - so a quiz or a past paper question! After that, we go through the concept in detail using the interactive whiteboard and we will round off with some exam techniques to make sure we're getting all the key marks! It's really important to practise exam technique, as these simple strategies can help students gain more marks in exams and progress up a grade. Each lesson is tailored to the student's exam board and learning style. It is important to do what works for you! I love how surprisingly simple science is, once explained well. Students often forget to have fun with biology, chemistry and physics, but I hope my lessons will remind you to enjoy it and push you to do some super curricular reading around your subjects. Everyone is capable. I wholeheartedly believe that anyone can achieve the grades they want in their exams provided they have the right resources and mindset. I achieved A*A*AA in my A-Levels (Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English Literature) and an A* in my EPQ. I achieved 10A* GCSE grades. Additionally, I secured a place at 3 out of 4 medical schools, and can use these experiences to adequately support students with their own medical school interviews, as well as offering UCAT advice.
