A bit about Christopher N

I am a full-time private tutor & education consultant with over a decade (8,000+ hours) of experience and an Aerospace Engineering graduate (MEng ) of the University of Manchester, where I especially enjoyed papers in Aerocoustics, Flow Instability, and Turbulence & Vortex Dynamics. I am passionate about education and feel I have the creativity, patience, experience and knowledge to deliver a high quality tutoring service to a wide range of age groups and abilities. My main subjects are Maths and Physics which I tutor to all school levels (A-level, IB, GCSE, IGCSE etc.), as well as the 11+ and 13+. Additionally, I tutor Engineering, Maths & Physics to undergraduate level on a case by case basis. Moreover, I have experience supporting successful applications to Oxbridge for courses such as Engineering, Natural Sciences, Physics, Maths and Computer Science (including preparation for the Oxford PAT, Oxford MAT, TSA, Cambridge CSAT, Cambridge EngAA, Cambridge NSAA, and STEP). I specialise in teaching Maths, Physics, Engineering, and both the 11+ and 13+: Maths ( GCSE, iGCSE, A-level & IB) Physics (GCSE, iGCSE, A-level & IB) Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering (Undergraduate level) 11 + (Maths, Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning - ISEB and Common Entrance) 13 +(Maths, Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning, Physics - Common Entrance) My style involves breaking down key lessons that students struggle with, using realistic/ visual examples that help illustrate the concept, and by getting them to explain their understanding of what they've learnt to each other to further engrave their understanding of the topic. One of the main reasons for my excellent track record is that I pay close attention to my clients and provide excellent guidance. Through high level lesson plans, offer flexibility and a good understanding of my students, I help students achieve their potential. As a tutor, it is my role not just to teach, but also to provide students with emotional support and guidance, which in turn is seen through an improvement in their learning. My focus is always on each individual’s needs and in this way I have helped numerous students make sense of subjects that were previously a mystery to them. Both parents and pupils alike have described me as ‘enthusiastic, ‘passionate’ and ‘inspiring’ – a reflection of the energy and professionalism I endeavour to bring to all of my sessions. I started tutoring in 2014, and ever since then I've taught well over 8,000+ hours. I have experience tutoring students attending a variety of schools, from prestigious private schools such as Kings College School, to grammar schools such as Graveney, and state schools such as BSix Sixth Form & College. Additionally, I tutor Engineering, Maths, and Physics to undergraduate level on a case by case basis, and I also run revision booster sessions during half term periods, helping Maths and Physics students prepare for examinations. I'm a firm believer that there is no single one student that isn't capable of achieiving anything - given the right tools, attention and understanding. It is my belief that the most important quality a tutor must possess is an appreciation of the individual requirements, needs and aptitudes of each of their pupils. I ensure that I identify and develop the natural learning style of each of my students, enabling them to achieve their intellectual potential. This is also supported by marking of past papers, notes on exam strategy, and the regular setting of homework.
