A bit about Chris M

Hello and welcome! I have 30 years teaching experience. I have been a science teacher, head of science and deputy head teacher. I am also a successful online science tutor and Physics examiner for Edexcel. When I'm not teaching I am presenting the wonders of the Universe in my mobile planetarium (think Brian Cox). I specialise in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at KS3 and GCSE. I am expert at preparing students for examinations. I am an examiner for 2 UK exam boards (AQA and Edexcel) and fully understand the requirements of written examinations. Outside of teaching I like to cook (almost restaurant quality). I am a keen road and mountain cyclist. I write electronic music and have an interest in astronomy. I have a real passion for science but understand that some students struggle with the ideas and facts, there seem to be so many! My satisfaction comes from guiding students through the big ideas in science so they can see how they all fit together, using as many real world examples as possible. It's a real joy when the penny drops and students start to understand things that were proving difficult before.
