A bit about Georgia J

I currently teach English to year 7 up to 13, specifically teaching AQA English Literature and English Language to GCSE and English Literature at A Level. I am also KS4 Coordinator for English. I have a degree in English Literature from The University of Kent and a PGCE from The Institute of Education. I am also an examiner for AQA. For me, English lessons allow for the discussion of bigger ideas and a greater understanding of the world around us. I also love the connections that can be made from texts of the past and what is going on in our lives today! My teaching style varies depending on if whether I am teaching English Language or Literature. I find delivering lessons with clarity and ensuring students understand the demands of each questions is essential for success in English Language. Whilst understanding the text and questions for English Literature is equally important, I find allowing students to explore their own interpretations helps to form originality in responses.
