A bit about Connor

I have recently graduated from an undergraduate Bachelor’s of Science in Biology at the University of Bath, however I am not limited to teaching just biology. I am capable of providing tutoring for any science subject, as well as mathematics up to GCSE level, and biology at a standard akin to a degree. I am a very interactive teacher- I find that as a tutor, it is our job to ensure the student has the best, most enjoyable experience whilst still taking away knowledge from our sessions. I make sure the student is comfortable and happy contributing, providing help and assistance where needed, ultimately achieving the best result for them. I am currently completing an undergraduate degree in Biology and expect to finish by summer of 2023. I recently conducted a placement year at the Open University, during which I was able to gain many practical and theoretical skills in my field. Furthermore, a studentship funded by the Microbiology Society also provided me with a great basis of knowledge which I will be able to utilise as a tutor. During my previous experience as a tutor, I have worked with students of various abilities. I would have to say my greatest success with a student would have to be one that was extremely easily distracted at first- it would be difficult to engage them with the lessons. However, after discussions with both themselves and their parents, I was able to cater my lessons to their individual strengths, and accommodate for their distracted nature, making lessons more visual-based and taking breaks to allow them to remain focussed. This resulted in a very productive and enjoyable series of lessons thereafter.
