A bit about Aysha

I’m a Biochemistry graduate from Kings College London. Currently working as a secondary school science teacher with 4 years of 1-1 tutoring experience for KS3, GCSEs and A Levels. I believe tutoring should be more than just teaching content, during my tutoring sessions I like to cater my lessons so my students become confident learners. As an experienced secondary school Science teacher I have a clear understanding of the national curriculum and different teaching approaches to best suit the students learning style. I plan lessons so there is sufficient time to develop subject knowledge and then do immediate exam technique practice to consolidate learning and so students can achieve the highest possible marks through exam practice and refining their exam technique. I have a BSc in Biochemistry and currently working towards a PGDE and Masters in education and leadership and so well I am well qualified to help students get the grades they need. I have a strong science background and graduated from a world class university. Through experiencing and getting through my science GCSE exam and A-levels I wanted to pass the knowledge, experience and skills that I gained onto the next generation, this led me to pursue a career as a science teacher. This is why throughout my teaching in school and through tutoring I emphasise the importance of learning beyond the subject content I adapt my lessons to fit the student. This is my greatest tool when it comes to teaching as something may work for one student but not the other. I also ensure my students are aware they can get extra support from me with any homework or assignments they may have. This in turn has helped my students greatly as they are reassured that my support is there whenever then need.
