When did you first start tutoring?

I have assisted in in-school tutoring for several 20 years supporting A-level Biology students in their studies and providing assistance with UCAS references.

What do you specialise in?

I am an A-level Biology specialist and experienced with Key Stage 3 and 4 Science curriculums. My specialist science is Ecology. As a Senior Science Technician I have provided specialist support on practical skills and I am completely versed in CPAC requirements and Required Practicals.

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I am a graduate in Environmental Biologist with a 2:1 degree from Aberystwyth. I also hold two further Masters in Environmental Assessment and Management. I have worked as Science Technician for 20 years specialising in delivering A-level biology, chemistry and physics lessons and resources. I write resource packs for ZigZag Education.

What is your teaching style?

I prefer a relaxed and gentle pace to teaching. A student needs to understand the basics before more complicated subjects can be tackled. I was someone who had to work for my qualifications and so understand the need for students to be reassured as they study. All learning should be a positive experience and work with a students skills and aptitudes.

Which relevant qualifications do you have?

I have a Degree in Environmental Biology and two Masters degrees in Environmental Management and Assessment. I have completed multiple STEM course on teaching Science and a course on Student Mentoring.

What exam boards and year groups do you teach?

I am most experienced with the AQA exam board although I have experience of working with OCR and was a GCSE Exam Marker for 3 years. 20 years in education means that I have taught at most levels. KS3, GCSE and A-level and even Primary School.
