Empathetic German and English tutor with 10 years of experience
You can book a free 20 minute, no-commitment introduction with any of our tutors. How does this work?
My name is Tim, I am a native German speaker and I teach German and English both as a school teacher and private tutor for 10 years. I moved to the UK in 2017. Currently, I tutor students online in small groups and in one-to-one settings.
I like a person-centred approach where I tailor the lessons around your needs. If you plan to relocate to a German-speaking country or prepare for your GCSEs - I would be glad to help.
For exam preparation we can have a look at your time management, how to approach questions and develop methods of language analysis. I encourage students to actively recall and practice the target language as much as possible during the lesson. If you are a beginner I focus on immersion in "real life" situations, e.g. introducing, greeting, shopping, etc. and I provide students with games and pronunciation practice.
Special needs teaching
Furthermore, I worked in mental health and learning disability settings in and outside of NHS Grampian. I studied educational needs of dyslexic and autistic students and those with ADHD. I would be happy to adjust my teaching approach accordingly.
I have a master's degree in English and Philosophy, profile teaching at high schools.
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes, Tim
