A bit about Dominic E

Hello! I'm Dom. Are you struggling with Maths, or wanting to improve your overall knowledge? Look no further! I have recently achieved a PhD in Mathematics from Keele University, and I have over eight years experience in tutoring Maths at all levels, and over three years experience in teaching mathematics at university level. I began tutoring GCSE level mathematics during my undergraduate studies, and helped several students to achieve excellent grades in their exams. At university level, I began teaching foundation year, undergraduate, and postgraduate level Mathematics alongside my PhD studies. This initially involved leading small group classes (20-30 students) and guiding them in how to solve example questions based on what they had learnt in lectures. In 2022, I was promoted to Teaching Fellow of Mathematics, and I now deliver lectures for various pure and applied mathematics modules at Keele. I also design and assess examinations and other forms of assessed work. Maths can be a headache at the best of times. Therefore, I strive to teach in a manner that makes learning enjoyable, engaging, and beneficial for the student. I do this by making lessons highly interactive, and working through tricky concepts and example problems together with the student. This generates a high level of discussions, and encourages you to ask as many questions as possible to maximize your understanding. Having been a Mathematics student not so long ago, I understand how current students are learning, and how it can take time to fully grasp mathematical concepts. I bring a high level of understanding, encouragement and reassurance to lessons to ensure that the student maintains motivation in their studies. Outside of teaching, I am a huge football fan, and a season ticket holder for Stoke City FC (unfortunately!) I also play table tennis and pool regularly. I am passionate about music and fashion, and I have my own vinyl record collection which is growing in numbers every week!
