A bit about James G

I live in Hertfordshire, I enjoy reading, cooking, cycling and table tennis. I have been teaching for 8 years working in further education colleges. I teach AQA GCSE English and Functional Skills. I love being able to help find ways to develop my students' ability to communicate and express themselves in their reading, writing and in our discussions. I will begin with a short activity English related to focus the mind and then move onto a particular topic that needs to be worked on. This would involve a presentation which I would deliver. I will be asking questions to check understanding. There will be set reading and writing activities to be completed as we continue through the session with constant feedback being provided. A task will be set at the end of the session for homework. I will always convey myself in the most appropriate and clearest way so that students understand the topics we are working on. I will support students as much as possible and provide mentoring and coaching to help develop their skills and knowledge.
