A bit about Yazan S

I first started tutoring after university (BSc Economics), and I have been tutoring privately on and off for the past 20 years. The first lesson is the most important. It's vital to get the student enthusiastic about the objective and confident of the outcome. This is easy, the objective is an A, and there is no reason to be any any doubt about achieving it, no matter what level the student is starting from. My philosophy is that it's always the teaching, and never the student, that is limited. I actually teach everything directly from past papers, but this shouldn't be confused with teaching to pass an exam. The papers (exam questions) provide the framework for lessons. I step back from the question, making sure the student understands all the concepts in the question, and then we practice with exercises. The method ensures the student also has full confidence in sitting the exam, and this is transferable to all of their subjects because it teaches them how to approach any exam paper and how to study.
