A bit about Brent H

I'm a fully qualified teacher and I have over fifteen years' experience teaching in both secondary school and Further Education. Last year I has 100% pass rate with all of my online students! I have successfully taught hundreds of students to achieve GCSE results above and beyond their target grades. If you are an anxious or a reluctant student and need a sympathetic and friendly teacher to help you understand how the exam is structured, as well as clarify and simplifying what you need to do to pass, I am the teacher for you! I specialise in AQA and EDUCAS. English Language and Literature GCSE, and English Literature A-Level. I have experience teaching a wide range of texts, in particular: Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, An Inspector Calls, The Sign of Four, Jekyll and Hyde, and A Christmas Carol. I have been very successful teaching AQA poetry, particularly to students who are not very confident. These students have achieved outstanding results! My lessons are fully structured and individually tailored to my student’s needs. I am a great believer in simplifying ideas and making your answers more effective. Although I am very friendly and supportive, we will cover all content needed in a lesson whilst making it enjoyable and informative. I always ask for feedback at the end of each lesson to see how I can improve things but also to talk to you about what our next steps will be. My favourite thing about being a Tutor is seeing my students become more confident and assured. Everybody has interesting idea and thoughts. When I can help them unlock ways to express them in speaking and writing I feel that I have done what I set out to do. My teaching style is supportive and I go out of my way to make my students feel relaxed and confident. I believe that many students over complicate their answers to exam questions and I help them become more confident and then produce more effective answers that will give them better grades from examiners. However, I will also push students to achieve the very best grades they can get! I specialise in AQA and EDUCAS at KS3 and Year 11 exam preparation is my speciality.
