A bit about Laura S

The introductory lesson would involve an assessment of your learning needs and what level you are currently at. You can tell me if you have any particular topics you would like to focus on and what you would really like to get out of the lessons. A typical lesson would begin with a short recap of the previous lesson. This is called active recall and is good for checking understanding of a topic. We will go through a topic/concept and look at exam paper questions related to that topic to assess your understanding. The end of a lesson would include a summary of what was covered and an opportunity to ask any final questions. Biology - I teach KS3, GCSE and A-level biology, particularly AQA and Edexcel. Maths - I teach KS3 and GCSE levels for all exam boards. Chemistry - I teach KS3 and GCSE levels for all exam boards. I have many interests outside of teaching. I love running and watching and playing rugby as they are good for my mental and physical well-being. I find being part of a team sport is great for improving various skills such as resilience which can be very helpful in the future. Music is also one of my favourite hobbies. I enjoy listening to all types of music such as jazz, international music, and rock. I like to attend concerts and live performances with my friends when I have the opportunity. I am a 4th-year medical student at Queen's University Belfast. I am from Northern Ireland and have been a tutor for over a year now. I am an open and honest person who strives to do my best in anything I do. I am an empathetic listener that explains concepts in a concise and easy-to-understand way. I have good organisational and time management skills which I believe are important to succeed.
